Custom Knives

Custom books are currently CLOSED, there maybe a few unclaimed handmade knives at various shows.  How I got started. Other than being a knife guy all my life, I reached out to Gene Martin of Provision Forge who made a few blanks for me before my shop was set-up, I finished one of these in 2015 and one in 2016 then began gathering tools required to make my own.  I owe an enormous thank you to all of the experienced makers who have spent time with me discussing various aspects of knife making and offering encouragement.  These makers start (in attempted chronological order) with Gene Martin, Smith and Son's (the whole family), Jerry Hossom, Thys Meades, Mike Stuart (Ekim Knives), Todd Begg, Stan Wilson, Walter Sorrells, David Boyette, Jeff Ellis, Josh Fisher, Karis Fisher, Zack Jonas, Chad Pirtle, John Conner (Redmeadow Knives), Tim Knotts, Matt Jaynes, Aaron Gough, Jimmy Schmitz, Bubba Roach (A.T.K.), Phillip Booth, Joe McNeely, D. J. Horn, Tony Severio, JW Randall, Ethan Lee, Kyle Daily, Dan Eastland, Timothy Potier, Andy Roy, Jan Hafinec, Grant Chambers and the list continuously grows!  A special thank you to Jim Provost and the Board Members of the Knifemaker's Guild who invited me for a review of my knives at Blade Show 2021 and the subsequent review at Blade Show 2022 for Probationary Membership - Charline Mathews and Les Adams.

FIRST KNIFE - 2015

This was the 1st knife I completed.  It is not my design; Gene Martin of Provision Forge made the blank, beveled, and heat treated it.  I finished it and made the sheath.  This got me hooked!!!  I used a spalted maple and Mrs. Sally's mosaic pins, the best around.
